“The actor will be cast from his qualities and impact.  Getting the role and delivering it brilliantly means that the package was clear, the performance powerful, and the type appropriate.”

Through an array of preliminary exercises, we discover your strengths by combining what you do well as an actor with your likeliest casting categories.  Then by working on appropriate material, actors learn to fulfill their likeliest casting categories in order to present themselves as a complete, castable acting package.  The result?

Actors emerge with much greater self-knowledge and confidence in their in-person or recorded presentations and offer the very best of who they are and what they do to casting directors, directors, producers, and most importantly, to audiences.

This work combines several approaches including actor marketing, auditions, and scene work along with deep and penetrating work on characterization.  Through the use of craft, the majority of the sessions will be spent achieving complete and outstanding interpretations of material that you can accomplish brilliantly.  When the right actor meets the right role, magic can happen.

N.B. All courses progress in a logical and consecutive sequence. Furthermore, students are frequently turned away once the maximum number of participants has been reached. For these reasons, students who begin the session agree to complete the session and are finally responsible for the session if they attend the first session.

"Most acting classes offer scene study and critique, but it is much more unusual to run into someone who is willing and able to guide the actor through several scenes from a feature-length script, with cameras, in order to create the experience of developing a character in a real film. This difference has clearly made a difference — at least if the performances I observed at Maravilla are any indications. The talent on display was noticeable, but even more impressive was the discipline, as well as the strong sense of an entire cast and crew working as a team. Come to think of it, the best analogy would be to an actual film set, which is, I suppose, the point."
